» Introduction

Help Rasuwa Nepal (HRN) is a registered non-profit, non religious, non-political social governmental development organization of volunteerism in Nepal. It was established by Dawa Tamang in 2011  in order to support remote villages in the Rasuwa district in the north of Nepal. and in the same year it was affiliated with Social Welfare Council under the Ministry of Women and Children. The Rasuwa district, which is mainly inhabited by the Tamang ethnical group, includes 18 village development committees (VDC) of which, the 7 most impoverished VDCs (Syabrubesi Gatlang, Goljung, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim) are in our special focus. While rich in culture, religion and history the people from these 7 VDCs are economically very poor and they lack the availability of health and education facilities. Even only 130 km from the capital, the districts geographical and topographical features have made it hard to gain access to development aid.Its aim is to conduct various child related social activities, provide abandoned children of Nepal with shelter, food, healthcare and education, In addition we are engaging to implement child rights, raising environment awareness, agriculture and income generation and many more. Moreover, we are working for women empowerment with the objective of them playing a participatory role in the sustainable development of Nepal.

Help Rasuwa Nepal mission is to assist the rural communities/societies through several need-based programmes and activities.

Nepal is a landlocked country with diversified geographical features ( i.e. high mountain region, hilly region, valleys, Terain plain land). It is centrally located in South Asia. The population of Nepal is about 29 million The density of population, illiteracy, and irrational practices in the societies with deep rooted superstition, lack of education, unemployment , political instability are considered to be the major factors for backwardness of the country. More than 65% of the total population is living under the poverty line. The traditional method of farming is still counted as the backbone of the national economy.

The majority of the population (ie: castes, untouchables, ethnic groups and minorities including indigenous and marginalized communities occupy more than 55% of the total population) has still been facing the problems of hunger, malnutrition, poor sanitation, being excluded from the opportunity of education and skill-based training for income generation, and awareness activities. Furthermore, the 30 year long autocratic regime under the monarchy and the 10 years long political insecurity have affected a large part of the population of rural areas converting them to both homeless and jobless. Thousands of children have become orphans because of conflicts;  The normal life of the people has been terrific due to uncontrolled price hikes in the daily needed materials where as the overall unemployment rate increased up to more than 70% (the literate unemployment rate crosses 80%). This trend in employment opportunity is turning the emotional intellectuals towards brain-drain that is resulting to banishment of youths in the name of foreign employment.

Having observed the scenario, most teachers, business man , travel trade specialists and civil engineers  have felt to do something to the affected public and communities with a view to assist the rural people on the way to uplift their life standard.

Help Rasuwa Nepal implements communication projects that focus on social mobilization. We welcome you to read about our(projects) to learn about the different ways we are helping these communities.

We are planning to work in the field of social mobilization as soon as possible because our organization has been established in the year 2011. We  regard social mobilization as the significant tool for community development. We believe giving food alone does not solve all the problems of a hungry man, we also should show him the way of living

We have been blessed with support from our donors and volunteers and with your support we can continue to rescue children off the streets and provide them a brighter future. If you would like more information or if you have any question please let us know. We respond to all emails and inquiries promptly.
